"The Jewish Museum in Frankfurt has collaborated with @miked, a member of the Beastie Boys, to develop an exhibition. The heart of the upcoming project is an exhibition of contemporary art and participatory installations. These vibrant, pop-cultural, interactive works will be complemented by a wide-ranging MISHPOCHA program featuring open stages, workshops, and partner exhibitions. The project is set to spread throughout Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region through the autumn of 2026, accompanied by an eponymous magazine. The project forms part of the World Design Capital 2026 @wdc2026 celebrations taking place in Frankfurt. The largest room in the exhibition is an explosion of the senses. It consists of an interactive multimedia installation that immerses visitors in the spirit of various musical subcultures. Large-scale projections and immersive soundscapes make punk, the Riot Grrrl movement, techno, and hip-hop tangible. These scenes represent more than musical styles: they shape communities, raise questions of identity and attitude, and have had a profound impact on cultural and social developments."
